Pop-up message for child porn a scam, police say

A pop-up message being sent to computers, warning the user that child pornography has been found on the computer, is a scam, police said. The Madison Police Department learned of the computer scam Sunday when a 27-year-old Madison man notified police that a pop-up message on his laptop computer said he had 48 hours to get rid of the child porn and that he also needed to send $300 to expedite the process.
