Piling snow forces many area businesses to close

Businesses across the Madison area were closed and cab companies struggled to keep up with calls Thursday as the region was walloped by a massive snowstorm. Madison's two biggest shopping malls — East Towne and West Towne — closed, although some of the bigger stores with exterior entrances like Sears, Boston Store and Dick's Sporting Goods remained open.
