Mount Horeb teen pleads not guilty in baseball bat killing

A not guilty plea was entered Tuesday for a Mount Horeb teen charged with the baseball bat beating death of another man on Nov. 27. Koalton P. Peterson, 18, waived his right to a preliminary hearing in Dane County Circuit Court and was ordered to stand trial on a charge of first-degree reckless homicide for the death of Ryan Smith, 20, of Fitchburg.
