Man pleads guilty to lesser homicide charge

A man who shot another man to death last year over what appeared to be a marijuana deal that soured pleaded guilty Wednesday to a lesser homicide charge. Victor M. McKeavin, 32, who had faced a trial next month on a first-degree intentional homicide charge, pleaded guilty instead to second-degree intentional homicide for the death of Derwin J. Hawkins, 31. Hawkins was found shot in the 1100 block of Gammon Lane on May 13, 2011. He died in an ambulance. Full Story: Madison.com
