Catalytic converters stolen from vehicles parked on UW campus

Thefts on the UW-Madison campus usually are of the laptop computer, backpack or iPhone kind. Now add catalytic converters to the list of items being stolen on campus. Three thefts of catalytic converters from privately owned vehicles have been reported the past two weeks to the UW-Madison Police Department. Police said the thefts were from SUVs, apparently easier to slide under because of more ground clearance and cut the converter out of the exhaust system. Full Story: Madison.com
