Advocates for homeless propose buying North Side building for low-cost housing

Occupy Madison, which began as a political movement about wealth inequities and morphed into a voice for the homeless, is trying to acquire a North Side building for services and low-cost housing. The volunteer-driven group has formed a nonprofit corporation and is trying to buy an office building at 2132 Fordem Ave. that would be renovated to provide housing for 20 to 25 people.
